I recently spent a weekend at Grand Cascades Lodge and had mixed feelings. On the upside, the setting is absolutely stunning, and I really enjoyed my room with a great view. However, there were several issues with the dining options and the lack of activities during my stay, which was disappointing, especially since the weather wasn’t cooperating.
Rooms
6.0
My room was pretty clean and well-kept, with excellent views, though the mattress was a bit too firm for my taste. I also noticed that some common areas in the resort could use more attention.
Service
5.0
While the staff were nice and tried their best, a lot of them seemed out of the loop which made for some awkward moments. I felt like they needed better training or direction.
Location

The resort is situated beautifully, it’s a perfect spot for nature lovers. However, if you’re stuck inside due to weather, it gets boring quickly.
Dining
5.0
Dining was a letdown; options were limited as several restaurants were closed. Crystal Tavern was okay, but it was pretty noisy and the food didn’t quite live up to the hype.
Facilities
6.0
The facilities looked great and there were definitely activities to do, like the spa treatments, which I enjoyed. But, I was surprised by the lack of board games or indoor options when it was raining outside.

I had a mixed experience at Grand Cascades Lodge. While I was impressed by the stunning views and engaging recreational activities, my stay was marred by a lack of hot water and some service hiccups. Despite these issues, the large, well-furnished rooms and excellent dining options, particularly at Restaurant LaTour, made for nice moments.
Rooms
6.0
My room was spacious, almost like a condo, with a full kitchen and laundry facilities, but I had no hot water during my stay.
Service
5.0
While the staff were friendly and attentive, I encountered several service issues, including unresponsive concierge and long wait times for elevators.
Location

The resort's location offers beautiful mountain views, but I was disappointed with advertised activities not in operation, like the zip-lining.
Dining
10.0
Dining at Restaurant LaTour was a highlight, with really good meals and impressive wine pairings that elevated the experience.
Facilities

The variety of recreational activities, like archery and goat yoga, kept me entertained, but the pool area felt overcrowded, especially without access to the outdoor sections.

My stay at the Grand Cascades Lodge was a mixed experience. The beautiful grounds and spacious suite made for a relaxing environment, yet the service and dining left much to be desired. I enjoyed the pools and the scenic views, but the food quality and attention from the staff did not meet my expectations.
Rooms

The Long Pond Hearth Suite was large and well-appointed, though a microwave would have been a nice addition. The bed was very comfortable, providing a good night’s sleep.
Service
5.0
While some staff members were friendly, I encountered a lack of attentiveness, particularly at the Crystal Tavern where the service felt rushed and impersonal. My concerns during check-in and throughout my stay weren't adequately addressed.
Location

The resort is in a beautiful location with stunning views of the mountains and well-maintained grounds that invite leisurely strolls through the pathways.
Dining
5.0
Dining experiences were disappointing overall. The food at both Crystal Tavern and Kites was just okay; my sirloin was overcooked, and the atmosphere at Kites left much to be desired. I felt that a so-called culinary resort should offer more engaging dining options and specials.
Facilities
7.0
The pools, particularly the 180 Vista/Vortex area, were a highlight. I enjoyed the variety of recreational activities, such as golf on the putting course, but evening options were limited.

My stay at Grand Cascades Lodge was a mixed bag. While I appreciated the beautiful scenic views and the engaging recreational activities, there were significant issues with the service I received, particularly at check-in and during dining. The overall environment has potential, but severe customer service shortcomings really overshadowed my experience.
Rooms
5.0
The room had a nice balcony view, but there was an unpleasant smell inside that reminded me of an old house.
Service
5.0
The check-in staff were unwelcoming and seemed bothered by my presence, leading to a frustrating start to my stay. I also had issues with room service that compounded my disappointment.
Location
6.0
The lodge is situated in a beautiful area, but navigating to my room was inconvenient due to how far away it was from the main building.
Dining
5.0
Dining was disappointing overall. After being told it would take an hour and a half for a burger, the food that arrived was subpar and made me question the quality standard at such a resort.
Facilities
5.0
The facility has great potential with different pools and amenities, but access to restaurants and events was poorly managed, impacting my overall enjoyment.

I had a mixed experience during my stay at Grand Cascades Lodge. While the scenic views and outdoor spaces were stunning, the staff was young and appeared inexperienced, which led to some questionable service. Additionally, I was disappointed by the dining options, especially the lack of pancakes for breakfast.
Rooms

The room was clean and spacious, but there was no microwave, which made it tough for my picky eaters to have leftovers.
Service
5.0
The staff was friendly but lacked the experience needed for effective service, leading to some frustrating moments. I witnessed a guest fainting, and no staff member stepped in to help.
Location
6.0
The location is beautiful, with great access to nearby attractions, but parking was quite a hike to the front door.
Dining
5.0
Dining options were hit-or-miss. While the Crystal Tavern had some appealing gourmet dishes, my experience with the breakfast was disappointing with no pancakes and bad coffee.
Facilities
5.0
The pools were nice, especially the Biosphere Pool, but there were safety concerns with the suction filter in the cave pool that need to be addressed urgently.
